AHS Orchestra Student Council

The Austin High School Orchestra Student Council is a fantastic opportunity for students to get involved at school, to build leadership and organizational skills, and to develop confidence in sharing their opinions and executing their ideas! Council officers are elected from the Chamber and Philharmonic Orchestras, with lots of roles and opportunities to use their specific talents and skills.

The council members play an important role in orchestra operations, the Monster Concert and other fundraising activities, vertical team concerts, recruiting tours, spring trip planning and preparation, and the orchestra banquet. They are an active and integral part of the orchestras’ communications to its members and an invaluable support team for the Orchestra Director.

Elections of officers are held each spring semester for the following year. The Orchestra Council usually meets once a week.
