Annual Fees and Instrument Rentals
The yearly orchestra fee for all students is $150.
If your student does not have an instrument and needs to rent one, the school instrument rental fee is an additional $60 per year. Students who play the bass must also pay the $60 instrument fee because they use the instruments for practice at school. Most students who play the cello will also use the instruments at school rather than bringing a cello from home.

Parents may also pay the orchestra fee and instrument rental fee by cash or check or credit card.
Checks should be made payable to the “Austin High School Orchestra”
Uniform Requirements
Uniforms are included as part of the yearly orchestra fee.
However, additional uniforms items will need to be purchased separately depending on uniform type.
If slacks or dresses are too long, please check uniforms out and take them home to be hemmed. Many dry cleaners and tailors provide this service. Uniforms can be checked out from the uniform room after school.
Dress hemlines should graze the floor or top of the foot when standing in concert shoes. Slack hemlines should graze the top of the dress shoes in the front and sit at the top of the shoe heel in the back. High school kids are still growing so when in doubt, err on the longer side. Please ask that extra material not be cut or otherwise permanently altered to maintain maximum flexibility for future students.
Boys will need a white tux shirt. Boys and girls all need to wear black shoes!
